A NEW VISION – 2008  

A synonym for the term event is happening, defined by the Oxford Dictionary as exciting, fashionable, and trendy. It is thus appropriate to describe the congress cum exhibition planned for 2008 as an Eye Care Event of Excellence, a new Vision for 2008.

Vision 2008 is planned for  11- 14 July 2008 and takes the form of a multi disciplinary eye care event to feature an outstanding academic programme involving all of the healthcare professions involved in eye care combined with a new look trade exhibition.

The event embraces state of the art technology for purposes ranging from registration to CPD. In essence, the entire programme has been designed for the convenience and enjoyment of the delegates with speakers of the highest standard - at very reasonable costs (less than 2006).

Vision 2008 is to be held at the trendy  but practical Emperors Palace in Gauteng , situated close to the airport and boasts a host of delegate friendly facilities.  In addition, accommodation is available for ‘out-of-towners ‘ at the hotel on site with alternatives accommodation nearby.

In essence the event promises to be a cocktail of academic excellence mixed with entertaining social events and an opportunity to network with colleagues, other healthcare professionals as well as members of the supply industry.

I would like to acknowledge the efforts of particularly Chris Eksteen (Programme Director) and Charl Laas (Marketing Director) whose untiring efforts will no doubt be translated into indeed Africa’s Premier Eye Care Event – Vision 2008
